  2. I paid off my almost 100k from a private school in less than 10 years. My husband did too. We scrimped and saved and got good jobs (both laid off during that time too). All our friends have also paid it off because they had similar ideas. The few people i know who haven't, didn't put any money towards their debt, just expecting it to be forgiven or they'll always have it.
