  1. I believe (based on what Andrew Branca has said), in every state the burden on disproving self defense (once raised) is on the state so Joys premise in the first place is wrong. This came up in Curtis Reeves yesterday when the defense during their JOA discussion pointed out the state actually raised self defense and defense believed they had raised and not countered it beyond reasonable doubt.
