  8. People took the Oregon trail and risked everything because they were told they had options when they made it out west - if they were told “hey, 20% of you will die and once you get there you will be sent right back to make the journey again” most probably wouldn’t bother in the first place.

  9. We have no house cleaners in our area who are Hispanic anymore. I get it’s a trope but literally 0% are Hispanic. Almost all the agricultural workers are migrants, but no women surprisingly.
