  1. So many actually innocent people in prison never get this attention because the innocence project feels they should be able to afford their own lawyers even if they're really destitute. But they take on these sort of cases. It's sickening.

There are still plenty of people who are innocent in jail for life, it isn't like science is suddenly infallible - i think it's probably the opposite and we rely on it to much (junk science getting into courts). The problem is the innocence project is not looking at the actual standing of the case, they're looking at how good of a lawyer the person had and the color of their skin.
