@drewgsands so the answer to the problem is pouring money money money into it? American has been doing that since the 50s, and things are worse now.

@drock430 , no one wakes up and determines that they will be an alcoholic, or a drug addict. There is a reason people turn to drugs and alcohol. And until they as individuals can figure out how to overcome that reason, they will continue.

First of all, thanks to the liberal leadership of America, trillions have been wasted on illegals instead of mental health care for Americans. Then there are the millions who are on welfare, yet quite capable of working (I was a public assistance caseworker for 28 years. I know of what I speak). Liberals like Peter just don't "get it" because they childishly think that the solutions are simple. Homelessness is very complex and multi-faceted.

@jackroro7381 , I have worked for the homeless for most of my adult life. Most of the homeless have mental health problems and/or addictions. Your assumptions are just that - assumptions. There might be a small percentage who are homeless due to financial problems, but that's not the norm.
