  1. Hi Larry, As always another great video. It is great to know how important residue management is when working on interior trim and how when using smaller pads requires a increase in residue management control. The one thing that I think you need to point out to all your viewers is the makeup of these interior trim parts. Interior trim parts are not painted so you are not working with a standard clear coat. Interior trim either has a urethane top coat or a PMMA topcoat. Both of these topcoats are about 2 mils thick. One last thing depending on the film used by the automotive maker you can reflow these topcoats by using heat. This can remove scratches and increase gloss. If you want to know more about films used for automotive trim interior let me know. I would be happy to provide you with a detail course on this along with how these parts are made.
