  2. Over 5 million North Americans are bitten by pet dogs every year...around 50 are mauled to death each year!

  4. Pet dogs kill 45+ US folks each and every year! The near death maulings are in the 10's of 1000's!! Hospital bites - send 100's of 1000's of humans to ER 5 million + dog bites each year... from PET dogs! In the US! Alligators are NO WHERE NEAR as dangerous as a PET dog!

More people are killed by dogs each/every year...in the US alone, there are 5 million bites, 10s of 1000s of life changing maulings (loss of limbs, full scalpings, facial features bitten off, ie. noses, lips, ears) around 50 people killed... I would suggest that pet dogs are also "unpredictable" World wide, each year, dogs are responsible for the death of 25,000 people.. Yes, I know there are more dogs than alligators but I am still shocked at the sheer number of dog attacks, especially attacks by loved, trained dogs, part of the family type pooches, that attack their own family out of the blue! Obviously we are doing something wrong?
