I always love a question that starts with “would you rather be a man who (blah blah blah) or a woman who (yada yada yada)…” - AS IF WE HAVE A CHOICE, or could have a choice. We don’t, and we’re absolutely stuck with the consequences of how, when, where, what social level and what sex we’re born into.

The equal pay law only covers federal employees at this time, except for in the states that have Equal Rights Amendments in their laws, like California.

@kevinchristensen7510 Good point. If I’m ever in a conversation about reincarnation and I’m asked what kind of person I’d choose to be if I could choose, I always answer: a rich white man (I’m a white woman, and relatively poor) because I know that’s what society (at least in general, and in the U.S.) values the most highly.

@scrumtrellecent It’s because they still think men are better, and are willing to pay for that. Even though women are “cheaper” to pay, they’re just not as good, no matter how intelligent or hard-working the woman is, in their minds.
