I had a moment there when he said his sister’s name is Bertha because that was my grandmother’s name. You don’t hear that so much anymore. Good memories. Also, I grew up in Florida, but all my family was originally from West Virginia, and I still remember when we’d go up to visit how on the drive back to FL, we’d see many Black people still picking cotton in South Carolina (this was in the 60s). Such a great episode. And yes, I saw your episode on West Virginia too, of course.
