@mariomelgarejo1886 That’s an interesting definition. I had never heard that before, thank you. I just always thought that using the term “expat” was like saying “we left the U.S., possibly for good”. On a less passive level, I always took it to mean “we got the hell out of the U.S. because it doesn’t give us the life we want anymore, and I’m finding a country where I like the living better (and often with the caveat of “and a place I can afford to live more comfortably”).
