  1. Yes, we have good ol’ Ronnie Raygun to thank for that. I just read in an older book (from 1991, which shows this is not some knee-jerk reaction from right-wingers), that The Heritage Foundation actually had a Mandate for Leadership 1981 (Project 2025 is currently The Heritage Foundation’s Mandate for Leadership), and Reagan adopted many of it’s “mandates”, one of which was cutting funds to education which resulted in what we now call the “Dumbing Down of America”, because they had determined (correctly) that less-educated people are easier to manipulate. (Sorry for the run-on sentence). And that is exactly why trump told his crowd “I love the poorly educated”. Now, Project 2025 wants to completely eliminate the Department of Education and make almost all schools (as in “white kid’s” schools) a voucher program for Charter schools (Christian-run).
