Isn’t it ironic that the U.S. President is so afraid of losing the next election, because in doing so, the U.S. could very well lose it’s Democracy (because every indicator shows that trump and the GOP have made it their game plan to destroy it, and, as Professor Mearsheimer said, whoever is President, he will support Israel) that he must tip-toe around the Israeli lobby? If this were any other election, it would probably be a very easy decision. Yes, Hitler only had about a 5-or so year reign of terror (and in many ways I do conflate trump with Hitler and his supporters, along with trump’s GOP and MAGA supporters), but it took a 4-(or so) year World War, with many, many lives lost on all sides. Plus the fact that trump has said he wants (and the GOP also wants) to cut all funding to Ukraine. How many people will also die in Ukraine (not to mention them also losing THEIR freedom and becoming, once again, part of Russia)? Having to decide between stopping a genocide in another country and losing our 250+ year democracy is a helluva tough ask. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place! So, essentially, the Palestinians have to die in OUR struggle to maintain OUR freedom? Thank you for clearing this up for me. I, personally, can’t stand the thought of either of these things happening, and I certainly wouldn’t want to have to be the one having to make that decision. Perhaps the best thing is to get rid of of the lobby.
