  1. I don’t think that would work as your tongue freezes to the pole the very instant it touches. That’s what happened to me when I was about seven and tried to lick my frosty bicycle handlebar. It scared me so badly that I yanked my head away and left a layer of skin frozen on the handlebar, and my tongue bled for a while. It was quite painful.
