  1. They’ve heard so many quotes from the Old Testament that they seem to be confused by the separation between the OT and the New (not to mention the separation of Church and State). And, they love to play the victim role, so when their ego is wounded they want to lash back, and they use the OT retributive thinking (btw, I love that word!).
