@alexs1640 Many (U.S.) Americans don’t realize that many, if not most people in Mexico (I only know about Mexico because I’ve lived there, but I’m assuming that it might be the same in Central America and South America) are offended when we refer to ourselves as Americans because they feel they are also Americans as they live in North America. They refer to us (and, to be polite, we need to refer to ourselves, while in Mexico) as Estadounidenses, which is like saying “United Statesers”. It’s just a difference in cultures.

@W1LLi4m_ And the U.S. used to be a 1st world country that I now consider (as a citizen and resident) to be a 2nd world with a fair chance of becoming a 3rd world country. It has changed so much in nearly every way that I hardly recognize it any more, and it’s pretty depressing.

I absolutely love Mexico and hope to retire in Mexico City (if I can save enough to live on Social Security and savings, IF our government doesn’t get rid of Social Security as they’re always threatening to do (although only one party is). One thing about Mexico City that wasn’t mentioned in the video is that only about 27 miles away (an easy bus ride) is one of the world’s most outstanding archaeological sites, the ancient city (abandoned for unknown reasons before even the Aztecs came to Central Mexico!) of Teotihuacán with three pyramids! It is truly breathtaking. And smack in the middle of Mexico City itself an ancient temple (Aztec, I’m sure) was discovered, and is being excavated, right next to the main Cathedral at the Zócalo, or Main Square, of the city. In fact, there a number of stunning archaeological sites, including pyramids in many locations throughout Mexico, particularly in the southern half. It’s an amazing city with so much to offer.
