@WGARVA People of the U.S. have GOT to get over their idealization of celebrities. Just because someone is famous as an actor or other kind of celebrity doesn’t translate to that person being the right fit for politics. In fact, it’s often quite the opposite, as evidenced by Reagan, Schwarzenegger and trump. Get the stars out of your eyes and minds, folks, and certainly out of politics.

@stephenmartinez9355 Nixon didn’t resign for some noble reason like not tarnishing the Office of the President; he resigned so he wouldn’t go to prison. He may have worded it to sound like a noble reason but he was just saving his own ass, and Ford helped him out by pardoning him (worst decision ever. If he hadn’t done that we probably wouldn’t be having this debacle with trump).

@marielarsen8800 They gave up on those ideals a while back, and went all the way to the “Dark Side” under trump.

@AffectionateAirboat-gk3zo While you’re very correct that they weren’t psychopaths like trump (although Reagan was definitely greedy and allowed others, like the Koch brothers, to manipulate him and put in some very bad policies, just like Nixon), but they also didn’t handle the economy very well. Yes, Arnold is a “nice guy”, but he’s not a good politician.

Hallelujah! I hope this trend continues through the year. We must go back to Democratic majority so that we can actually save our Democracy. It’s that important.
