  1. I have the same symptoms, and have for many years (I’m 75). The “best” diagnosis I’ve gotten are Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. I hate it, too, as I used to be so active and energetic, and this feels like a half-life, or less. I now call the “golden years” “fool’s gold”.

  2. Was that resident on chemo? I ask because I once had cancer, and during chemo treatments, everything I ate tasted like wet cardboard. Absolutely no flavor. It was no fun because I’ve always treasured the different flavor of foods. Although it took a few weeks for my sense of taste to come back, I was very happy it did.

  3. @ Thanks. Yes, my doctor has everything in my blood checked every year, if not every six months. She always, always, always says “everything is great.” They even email me all the results of each test, and they always show almost right in the middle of the “normal” range, but I sure don’t feel normal. I’m also taking a good multivitamin and potassium, as well as a baby aspirin a day. It’s been like this for almost 25 years. At least I had a lot (a lot!) of fun when I was young. I lived by Janis Joplin’s words: “Get it while you can”, and I did! (BTW, I also saw her in concert!) I’m very happy to hear that you are doing so well at 83. Enjoy every minute. Unfortunately, we’re not all alike in that. I know there are a lot of women in their 70s and 80s, and more, who take walks with their friends regularly, and still take cruises (which I would absolutely love to do again), but that just wasn’t my fate. C’est la vie. There’s so much our medical science and doctors don’t know or haven’t discovered yet . Maybe in 100 years, they’ll have figured this out.
