Oh, but see, they preface their statement by saying “poorly managed” compost and “other synthetic inputs” can be contributors. This gives them “plausible deniability” for their statement. It’s as if they’re saying “well, if someone throws in old tires or hamburgers into their compost, it would be bad”. Well, duh! Of course that would be bad! Nobody who knows anything at all about compost would throw old tires or hamburgers into their compost. They’re just trying to give themselves an out in case anyone confronts them for making such a stupid statement. In the meantime, their article is getting widely read, and some idiot (like someone in a government position) will get on their high horse and try to use it to make a law banning home gardens. Funny that it was the government who pushed for home gardens after WWII - “Victory Gardens” - to take the strain off the government, and reduce hunger, when food supplies were low after all the nation’s energy went to feeding the war machine instead of people. Now, the Agriculture Industry wants to rule and control us all, and certainly all our food (which they happily poison and corrupt), so they want us to depend on them for ALL our food.
