  1. I have never understood American’s obsession with celebrity. Yes, there are actors I like, or even admire, but that doesn’t mean I think they’re qualified to be a President, or even a Governor. Yet, we have Reagan, Schwarzenegger and trump as such “sterling” examples of celebrities being idolized to the point of getting elected. And all three were literally horrible as politicians! And people still lionize them. I just don’t get it. But then, I can remember when JFK was running for President (yes, I’m old!), and, as a very young girl, I overheard women saying, “Ooh, he’s so cute” (or gorgeous; pick your swooning adjective), “I’m going to vote for him! Even at that age, I thought, “Are you kidding me?? I don’t care if he looks like Quasimodo, as long as he can run the country well”. I can still hardly comprehend the shallowness of the American people, even though I’ve seen so many examples of it on display my entire life. Leeja, please also do a video about the Koch brothers, Charles and David, the devils who gave Reagan so many neoliberal ideas, for example, the destruction of our educational system that spurred “the dumbing down of America”. (Because uneducated people are so much easier to indoctrinate. “I love the uneducated!”…Donald Trump quote, of course). They, and their baby, The Heritage Foundation, seem to be the foundation of every terrible political “new idea” that has been a serious disaster for our country. And, maybe throw in there how their father was a leading early member of the John Birch Society, and all they did to create “The Southern Strategy” that got Nixon elected, just like the Moral Majority did for Reagan. They’ve had their fingers in the American pie for many decades. (And yes, I know that one of the Koch brothers died, but, I believe his son is an important leader in their policies now). Thanks.
