@msjkramey Because that was a legal agreement between the government and churches, basically: as long as you keep your political views out of your churches and your sermons, you don’t have to pay taxes. But now many church leaders/preachers are doing just that. They’re even telling their congregation who to vote for (and I think you can guess who they’re telling them to vote for). If they’re now doing that, they should have to pay taxes.

@777Treeoflife The Bible does NOT teach against abortion, and Jesus never, not once, even mentioned either homosexuality or abortion. The problem is these people (evangelicals) are using the name “Christian” for their identity, as the word “Christian” is derived from Christ, as in, based on Jesus’ teachings, which are all in the New Testament. However, they don’t seem to bother much with the actual teachings of Jesus, but seem to prefer Old Testament vindictiveness and vengeful attitudes (“an eye for an eye” type teachings), which do teach against homosexuality, but never mentions a negative attitude toward abortion (so they use “Thou Shall Not Murder” which is one of the, again, Old Testament, teachings to cover their beliefs.

@3000MrGian Democratic Socialism is better, at least for The People, as opposed to the very wealthy and, now, corporations.

@3000MrGian Funny, but atheists and agnostics and even members of the current Satanic Temple (who do NOT actually worship Satan at all) have shown that a person can have excellent morals, and ethics, at least as much, if not more than many people who, literally, only profess to be Christian yet commit despicable acts.
