@taracorley3291 I agree completely. I was very, very impressed with how he handled this interview, and I think this young man absorbed much more factual information that way…and he took notes, so he’ll continue learning. What more can we ask for? Education is everything.

@ChasFink And to think, this is how people used to have discussions with other people, in this country, 40 or 50 years ago. I would love to see much more of that. We can certainly learn excellent techniques in communication from this video.

@KimDuty-i8e And he did it in such a calm, non-confrontational and respectful manner. I think the information got through to the young man that way, and it’s something we could all learn how to do.

And if only we could get guys like him to actually register and vote! He sounded like he was still on the fence about that. Pretty convinced, but not quite. What’s missing?

Wow, David! This was undoubtedly the single best political conversation I’ve heard in at least 50 years! You were fantastic! I don’t think in that 50 years I’ve heard a political discussion that was so completely calm, respectful, instructive, factual and lucid as this. If only half of today’s discussions were like that, we’d all be listening to them and learning so much, and our collective blood pressure would be so much better, as well as our relationships with each other in our families, in our neighborhoods and our country. You have given us a wonderful example of beneficial civil discourse. I’m going to save this video and watch it over and over to learn, not only all the facts you brought, but also the incredibly kind and respectful way you did it. Congratulations! I think you’re ready for the U.N. now. Thank you for posting this. The only part that broke my heart is that this young man isn’t immediately rushing out to get registered to vote, and then running straight to the nearest polling station or ballot box. But then, I was like that when I was his age, I couldn’t stand politics, but he’s still got lots of growing to do, and if I could turn into a serious political follower, maybe he will too. And you stated a number of facts that I didn’t know either, and I try to listen to all sorts of various news sources, including foreign ones.
