  5. If we can get religion out of politics (the way it used to be, mostly), we would be a much more whole and healthy country. Both The Federalist Society and The Heritage Foundation are injecting a stranglehold of ultra conservative Old Testament doctrine, mixed with fascist ideologies into the Republican Party, and they plan to take over any way they can, including with “bloodshed”, as Kevin Roberts (President of The Heritage Foundation) said. That kind of talk cannot be justified nor tolerated. Unfortunately, they’ve been around for a long time (The Heritage Foundation has been around, at a minimum, since the Reagan Administration, and, apparently, even as far back as the 60s. I will have to look up how long The Federalist Society has been mucking around in the selection of Supreme Court justices, but it’s been a while). We MUST have a Separation of Church and State, and we need to codify it into the Constitution, permanently. Apparently, Heritage wants to take us back to the religious rule of the city-states of old Italy (I’m basing this on videos by Frank Schaefer, who is quite the expert and voice of what’s been going on with the ultra-conservative movement in the U.S. as he was once part of it, but has long seen what they really want as far as bringing in a fascistic theocracy to rule our country). We would become a “Christian” (without the Jesus love part) version of a Shari’a law-controlled style of governance similar to what they have in Iran, or Afghanistan (although I don’t think what they have is Shari’a rule in Afghanistan). We cannot allow that to happen here.
