  1. It is sad that Haiti is in such a horrible state lately, even worse than simply being a poor country. Such a wonderfully successful person should move (back) to Haiti and make that country better. It really needs help. Those here on protected status are deserting their country and causing even more harm.

  2. It is a bit like "brain drain" but it applies to physically healthy men as well. I cannot claim I wouldn't abandon my home country if it was in the state that Haiti is in. But I can recognise that people need to make their home countries better and have the courage to do so.

  4. He and others like him would be wonderful assets to Haiti. Haiti needs them far more than the U.S. needs them. It is cruel and a bit selfish to abandon your home country when it truly needs your help.

  5. I wouldn't mind learning the details that substantiate this claim. Also, I wasn't responsible for our foreign policy and didn't benefit from whatever corrupt people have allegedly done there. I don't fall for this guilt trip and I do not think that this flood of immigrants is a "just punishment" of American citizens of any sort.

  6. Quite true. Did they even ask anybody in the town whether they want this? Did they even warn them this was going to happen? It is a case of someone being extremely generous with someone else's money & community. It shows us that there is a "ruling class" that has zero respect for the average citizen.

  7. ​ @postmodernmining If the shining stars all leave Haiti, it leaves that struggling country to an even worse fate. They would be far more helpful to Haiti than to the U.S. Please return to your home country and make it better.

  8. If I may say one other thing, it would be wonderful if he returns to Haiti and helps improve his native country. An asset such as him is way more valuable to a struggling country than to the U.S.
