And I believe the Chinese military does use satellite-guided precision strike weapons, if they are offering those in the export market then there's no way they wouldn't use those domestically. They already have the Beidou system which is similar to GPS. The reason why we don't really see them using those in their trainings is likely because those're rather expensive and are mostly reserved for actual conflicts rather than training.

@qarmatianwarhorse6028 AFAIK, the detection range for fighter-sized objects for KJ-500 is around 470 km according to domestic assessment. Not sure about the data for KJ-200 and KJ-2000 though.

@kaneanthony7724 IMO it's not a clash of ideology, Saudi Arabia for instance is also ideologically quite different from the US yet US has quite good relations with Saudi Arabia. It's more a clash of culture, race, and economic interests.

The numbers for the Flankers are debatable and are likely underestimates. According to newest sources China already has over 200 J-16 and nearly 300 J-11B/BS

The biggest issues for the Chinese air force aren't precision-guided weapons or their planes, the biggest issues IMHO are transport and logistics, especially the lack of aerial-refueling tankers. According to published data they only have around 18 or so H-6U tankers, not only the number is insufficient, but the H-6U tanker is also rather outdated and its fuel capacity is significantly lower compared to US or Russian ones. Things would change however if they manage to create (which they probably already did) and mass-produce a tanker based on the Y-20.

@oldmandoinghighkicksonlyin1368 Yet US failed in Vietnam. US can only bully countries that are much weaker than themselves. China isn't Syria or Iraq or Kosovo, China is much larger than those countries, and the technological gap between PLAAF and USAF is much smaller.

@kaneanthony7724 Believe me, we Chinese don't want to dominate and colonize the world at all unlike what you westerners have done, we just try to make ourselves live better and trade with more people, yet somehow our developments make the US jealous and they're trying everything they could to stop our growth. It's definitely not about ideology or not solely about ideology, but more about economic/trade interests, resources, regional influence, culture, race, etc.

@radiofreealbemuth8540 But you cannot deny that race is still quite important and US has a lot of race-related issues, like Black Lives Matter and more recently Asian Lives Matter. I'm not as politically correct as you and I would say that race definitely plays a role in the current US-China conflict.

The conflict is most about culture, race, and economic/trade interests, not about ideology. US coexists very well with countries like Saudi Arabia for instance, who has a completely different ideology. And historically US had fought with many countries who weren't communists, such as Japan, Germany, Italy, UK, Canada, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.

@kaneanthony7724 Well, we don't have military bases all around the world unlike the US. The US has invaded many countries in the past two hundred years of its existence and China barely invaded any. In the past 2 centuries the US only had no wars for 16 years! Yes, you heard it right, merely 16 years without war in the span of two centuries! And you guys also killed countless Native Americans, and send their children to boarding schools, forced them to assimilate. @kaneanthony7724 Yet you have no proofs whatsoever about China doing them today. The truth is minorities actually have a higher social status than Han Chinese in China. They were never subjected to the infamous one-child policy (which I hate even though I'm Chinese), and they receive numerous benefits and advantages over the Han majority for instance they would get bonus points in university entrance exams due to their minority status. And the west are still doing it today. For instance the Australian soldiers are torturing Afghan prisoners and killing Afghan civilians for fun.

@kaneanthony7724 Well, Chinese Nationalists are still Chinese. And the Communists did fight the Japanese they organized anti-Japanese guerilla warbands in Manchukuo and in North China, which forced the Japanese to divert some of their attention and resources back to the already subjugated regions and thus hindering their expansions. And the reasons why the West helped China during WW2 were basically that 1. Japan was foolish enough to attack US and UK garrisons in SE Asia and the Pearl Harbor and 2. They didn't want to see China colonized by Japan because that would provide millions of fresh manpower and resources for the already quite strong IJA. In brief, the West helped China not because of friendship but because of their own interests. And now that China has become stronger the West has revealed their true jealous faces.

I'm not jealous about Taiwan at all. 2. I'm against taking Taiwan by force, and there're many Chinese who share my opinion. Taking Taiwan by force would certainly cause a lot of death and destruction, and the costs of rebuilding Taiwan after the war would certainly be allocated to Chinese taxpayers. 3. @kurousagi8155 I'm pretty sure the numbers for J-16 are operational numbers and not inventory numbers, considering how much they've been using their J-16s to circumnavigate Taiwan's ADIZ recently. On Oct 4th they've sent 38 J-16s to the Taiwan Strait. And J-16s have also been seen deployed near the China-India border far to the west. 100-140 is definitely an outdated estimate, the real number in service should be over 200.

In fact I've seen a report from CCTV where it shows JH-7A fighter-bombers carrying precision-guided bombs. If JH-7A are using them then there's no way more advanced planes like J-10C, J-11B, J-16, and J-20 aren't using them.

@mark Mierzejewski In recent years China has strengthened their ASW capabilities particularly with the introduction of KQ-200 ASW plane. Around 50+ KQ-200 are now in service. And also China has other ways to obtain oil and natural gas, there're pipelines that transport oil and natural gas from Russia to China.

@mark Mierzejewski And it's only their nuclear subs that are somewhat behind (though this will change eventually with the introduction of 096), their conventional subs are quite up-to-date and are a force to be reckoned with.
