AG600 is using domestic Chinese WJ-6C engines. It doesn’t use any Canadian engines.

@yours_sincerely48 AL-20 is an old engine from the Soviet era, whereas WJ-6C is an upgraded or modernized version developed in China based on the AL-20. It is currently used on AG600 as well as Y-8/Y-9 and their numerous derivatives, such as KJ-200, KQ-200, and KJ-500. Chinese helicopters are also using domestic WZ-9 and WZ-10 engines. China nowadays is largely self-reliant in terms of engines, and doesn't rely on imports from Canada.

@yours_sincerely48 How do you know that those engines aren't good enough? If it isn't good enough then why it is used on several Chinese military aircrafts? The original AL-20 or WJ-6 only has around 4,250 hp, but the upgraded WJ-6C has 5,100 hp, and that's already a huge improvement. Of course it isn't perfect and China is developing a new WJ-10 engine from what I know, but credit where credit is due. There're only a few countries in the world that can produce aircraft engines, and China is one of them.

@yours_sincerely48 Civilian and military engines are different matters and shouldn't be examined in the same manner. I'm talking about military engines while you're talking about civilian ones. I don't deny that China still has a long way to go in terms of civilian aviation industry, but they indeed made a lot of progress on military engines over the past few decades. Credit where credit is due.

@yours_sincerely48 China is slowly making improvements in the engine department and it takes time. You cannot expect them to make top-notch engines for both military and civilian aircrafts overnight. Gradually the improvements made in the military domain will be transferred to civilian domains. Again, credit where credit is due. Enough said, now stop with your nonsense China-bashing please.
