  1. Better it’s not nuclear, around 50% or world wide ports don’t accept nuclear vessels and the majority if those are commonwealth. It’s fuel tanks are enough to go to Sydney with fuel leftover. Imagine building a vessel that your partners won’t accept. Catapults are expensive and fragile, when one fails all do and they take up much more space. The F35B payload is more than sufficient with the ramp.

  2. Please explain how this is an EU mission with EU aims and directives? Majority of NATO is EU anyway.

  3.  @henryvagincourt4502  Why do you declare that you are ex RN? It makes no difference to the comment or the weight of the comment. Times change like every other organisation out there, new people with new ideas who don’t just think it was better in my day. Move on.

  4. @Drew Peacock Every country in the world has sailed a carrier without aircraft. They are not required for the mission so they aren’t needed. Pointless to put aircraft on when there is no use. Soldiers don’t carry their CBRN kit at all times, only when needed. Odd to call me a dipstick when you haven’t put an argument forward in response to points above.
