  8. rick ohara Can you provide evidence to an EU document, all are online from the EU site, that shows the EU are making us take these asylum seekers in? Go and look at the 1951 UN Refugee Convention, there you will find why we have to accept asylum seekers and process them, not let them in but begin the process.

  9. Bradders - People arriving in boats are ASYLUM SEEKERS and as such they are entitled to enter any country in search of safety and CANNOT be punished for crossing a border without authorisation. Under the UN Refugee Convention countries CANNOT penalise refugees who do not have valid travel documents.

  10. Bradders - If you are fleeing a country because of war you are a refugee regardless of how many countries you have been to, it’s the original country not the last one you left. As I have pointed out through the 1951 UN Refugee Convention, if you are a refugee you can travel to any country regardless of how many counties you have travelled through. Your status doesn’t change. This is a common misconception.
