  1. Interrupted by other electronics like Tvs and Computers and basically anything that has a motor in it... Cus TVs and Computers have motors in them... What you need to keep your router away from is your microwave primarily, or if you have a CRT TV/Monitor, keep it away from that too (doubtful in this day and age) The biggest signal blockers are concrete (or other rock type materials) and metals (especially aluminum), it's ok to put your router in a wooden closet, sure it'll block some of the signal, but if you've got your computer just outside the closet, you won't notice a difference. Honestly though, best solution is ethernet, not using wireless at all. Use an ethernet powerline adapter for longer distances.

  2. Bold move. But I have to say I approve, you can't just keep pouring resources into something because you already invested so much in it, you have to cut your losses before things get out of control, and the F-35s got waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of control.
