@jeffrecon1 Pleading the 5th is done when admitting the truth might be harmful to someone or might show they have committed a crime. Or as Trump put it: "If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?"

@jeffrecon1 Trump's in his mid seventies. He didn't have a breakthrough in his thinking that only the the guilty take the 5th. Of course he still believes only the guilty take the 5th. He lied to the public over 30,000 times in 4 years. This lie was just one more because he took the 5th over 400 times.

@jeffrecon1 But in a civil case or civil action the judge or jury can draw an adverse inference to support liability when the defendant invokes the Fifth Amendment.
