John Fowler 1. Extremely expensive to get there to no great benefit. How much money would you be prepared to spend? 2. Do you still possess a floppy drive? 3. Many were placed in the Smithsonian and are still there. Most tapes were reused (after the data was processed) and ultimately replaced as technology moved on.

John Fowler They said we don’t currently (at the time of the interview) possess the technology to leave LEO. Apollo technology is incompatible with today’s technology; the Descent modules are sitting on the moon, ascent modules smashed in the moon, Commsnd Modules in museums and Saturn Vs burned up in the atmosphere. How many do you think are usable?

felix mendez As Curious Droid points out in this video, they have been photographed from orbit. Recording on tapes was superseded by hard drive capacity. You think tapes are superior to all other forms of data storage we use today? Why can conspiracy theorists never come up with a better belief for maintaining manned missions to the moon other than "because they can"? You can never come up with a purpose nor a means to justify the expense. Materials technology, computers and manufacturing techniques have moved on; the people with the hands-on knowledge of 1960/70s technology and Apollo construction are retired or dead. We have the blueprints for constructing Apollo craft but would have to regress to build them. That brings us back to the question of why do you think we should keep building them?
