  1. No big mystery here. Americans who drink coffee mostly use electric rather than stovetop coffee makers, so they have nothing against electricity. They don't have an electric kettle because it isn't worth the counter space for a rarely used appliance. If they drank tea all day they would consider an electric kettle worthwhile. The efficiency of an electric kettle is interesting, but that silly question as the premise of the video is not.
