  2. And, if you already have breathing problems - in my case, ones I was born with …. Any mask I wear needs to have close to no resistance to not feel as if I’m suffocating. This is so much the case that I started buying the parts for a “powered respirator” back in 2020 or so.

  3.  @rickwilliams967  In the book, “Slavery and Social Death,” Patterson implies that’s but ONE possible reason. It is an obvious one for those familiar with unrestrained capitalism (and all other forms of unequal Power relations.) The ability to inflict suffering upon those one despises with relative impunity often “trumps” the monetary gains possible. (Pun intended.)
