  1. The one of these I went through circa 1986 got multiple porting sessions, and eventually a larger piston. By the time I finished, forty mile an hour cruise was easy. Before - it had trouble getting close to forty. (The exhaust port had some serious blockage from the factory - big casting flaw.)

  2. Note: this was ~ 40 years ago. I was using Castrol 20-50 in the Honda(s), due to them running hot. I also changed it frequently, e.g. every 600-1000 miles. Also, there were no bike-specific oils then. Only needed 1 1/2 quarts in the larger.
