@@SupremeReader “predation” in this case refers to predatory business practices, e.g. price-gouging, kickbacks, “business bribes,” etc.

@cchavezjr7 many farmers currently get, or got in the past, food subsidies. This was to make certain 1) the farmers didn’t lose their <censored> during bad times, and 2) the food was purchased by the gov’t and then processed into long-keeping/shelf-stable forms. This might still be being done on a smaller scale. (Might be wise to resume the practice to keep farmers from going under, and keep great industrial combines from controlling all the food!) As an example, There once were large “cheese-caverns” filled with a vast amount of cheese - 1.2 Billion pounds comes to mind - and while I’ve never seen any of the fabled “government cheese,” I have heard of it.

“…and is produced/sold at “nominal cost,” as is appropriate for life-needs. Note: “nominal cost” does not preclude (a reasonable and fair) profit. It does preclude gouging. Note 2: life-needs should be processed in a manner that reduces and minimizes opportunities for greed and concentration of power. This includes, but is not limited to, cooperatives and other non-capitalistic means of production.

@harley-cq6de no. That way leads to monopoly/extreme concentration of economic power - which means it becomes (MUCH!) more expensive. This is fine IF you are 1) the one holding said monopoly, and 2) your goal is world domination.

@Cnichal especially if one is starving!

@88marome on a (somewhat) more serious note - you more or less have to do things like that in the future, if there is to BE a future!

@Tempest2228 true. I suspect that giving women truly workable alternatives to “prenatal infanticide” would help a great deal toward reducing such matters to “medical necessity”. That includes what you mentioned, and much more.
