Good that you work like that when you’re young. That kind of thing is not something you can do “forever.” Imagine having to do that to simply survive.

@@Ayn-Rand-Is-Dead the exception I know of being when what you’re working on consumes you utterly, e.g. you’re writing science fiction type novels, in hopes of one day being published. (First hand experience.) Otherwise, it is, indeed, as you said.

@sarahmanalapan8443 true. My parents were able to do that. Had I not been born with multiple disabilities and significant disfigurement - I MIGHT have managed to do the same. (Would have been really iffy, though - would have needed either some real meaningful help or a lot of luck to pull it off. As it was, I was doing well to work at any kind of a job until I ended up on disability in my mid thirties. Tried to get a degree, failed at that too. Only after that failure did the worst disabilities actually get formally diagnosed - which explained a lot of why getting and keeping jobs was so infernally hard.)
