Just the thing to keep your Iwatani stove happy! Note: such a stove appears to be pictured at the end of the Vid!

Zojirushi? Seems so. Awesome. Hope to get one of these in the future. (Rice doesn’t make me sick. Lots of other foods - DO. )

They make a range of these things. What I hope to get is between 200 and 350 or so. I have a number of slowly worsening chronic diseases, and there’s a lot of foods that make me sick any more. rice is one of the foods that currently does NOT make me sick. If you need to eat rice nearly every day - then dropping that kind of $$$ on something that can reliably prepare it, even when you’re indisposed - doesn’t sound quite so bad.

Rice that smells burnt is unappetizing. When rice is one of the few foods you can eat that doesn’t mean frantic dashes to the bathroom, nausea, and other troubles - you’d like it to taste (and smell) good. I cannot afford their top-shelf version, but I do want to get the best one I can afford. Automation is a godsend when you need to eat and are too indisposed to cook food “normally” - normally for me, anyway, which isn’t very good.

Stoves that use these, e.g. Iwatani FW35, as supposedly very popular in that part of the world. Also, if one has the right adapter, this type of canister works well in a Trangia gas burner. (I have the alcohol burner, too.) I have tested this second matter. It simmers well. Should help in both power outages and while traveling.

I.e. buy once, cry once?

Come to think of it, I’ve bought two pair of master link pliers (bicycle and other drive chains) spoke cutters, and a spoke threading tool - and they’re all both made in Japan, and not by IPS. Oh, and the company is named Ho-Zan, or something like that.

Yes, I do want a Zojirushi rice cooker!

Those look Awesome. I’d gladly pay upward of 20$ for one.

Note the sparks? He’s hard-turning pieces to those stamping dies. The chips coming off that workpiece are HOT. That said, he needs to be wearing full-on safety glasses or goggles. Non-side-shielded safety glasses stop most stuff coming off the lathe, mill, etc. I’ve needed to go down the hall to the bathroom more than once and flush my eyes to get a chip out, and I’m doing this stuff at home. My regular wear glasses are safety glasses, by the way - just no permanent side shields. (I have slip-on side pieces.)

There are special “rulers” called Shrink Rules which are stretched just a little bit to account for this shrinkage. For aluminum, it’s 3/16 of an inch per foot. They can be found on EBay, which is where I bought mine.

Awesome carpenter’s ax!

Just the thing for soup - this, some rice or noodles, veggies, a little soy sauce, and maybe some spices. It looks really good, too!

Those Woks look like they’re REALLY good ones, as in they’ll be an asset and not a hindrance to the cooks!

They most likely ARE made of a lead alloy, something similar to the old linotype formulation would be my guess.

Oh, really GOOD toenail clippers. My old ones are getting really dull. I wonder where I can get some of these?
1
Which is why they still make these, I suspect. The filamentary glow probably helps in some situations.

Is that fuel charcoal, or coke?

I’m guessing closer to a dough mixer?
