Sickening for many, yes. Traumatic (PTSD flashbacks in my case) in the extreme for others.

More elimination of conscience than history. Owning chattels is fine, so long as they are the owners, to their thinking.

DJ wants a return to the conditions depicted in Sinclair’s book, “the Jungle.” (???)

Because it reduces their power, and it takes away their position as lords/gods of the social hierarchy.

More the latter than the former, because critical thinking interferes with instant obedience to one's master. Knowing the actual history is less of an issue, as long as it's spun the right way - so as to exalt those in power.

And the other 590 or so as well…

This is “Slavery and Social Death” territory! (Referring to the book by Orlando Patterson)

Excellent Idea.

Also understand that there ARE individuals for whom the “fantasy” is their chosen reality. Understand that there are locations that will encourage that kind of behavior, e.g. Florida. There are people in those areas who will stand solidly behind such homicidal behavior. Finally, in some areas, the government will be behind such matters by legally exonerating such killers, e.g. Florida again. If you protest such matters, keep that in mind and protect yourselves.

I’m waiting for these smelly people to say that w***e people are superior in every way - to quote Social Darwinists - to spout actual scientific racism stuff. To quote, say, stuff by Lothrop Stoddard.

They wish to restrict all such interaction to their peers and betters. They think to keep themselves*pure* by doing so.

And pay a lot, too. "You get the indoctrination you are able to buy.'

The “owners” benefitted, yes. Not just economically, but in many ways. They benefited by destroying others. Patterson’s book, “Slavery and Social Death.”

Understand that when this kind of person feels that strongly about one kind of difference - they are likely to feel similarly about other kinds of difference as well. The ultimate goal of these people is to only allow their precise kind to exist.

@stevenh8174 more like, "the truth is whatever those in power say it is."

Slavery was good for Slaveholders. It enhanced their status in the community. It made them Leaders. Patterson, “Slavery and Social Death,” 1985. It was horrible for everyone else: explicitly horrible for those enslaved, and implicitly for those not actually enslaved, who were in fact controlled by the slaveholders to nearly the same degree. I became interested in the above book as a result of learning I was/am “socially dead,” I.e. having a less than human status on account of having Goldenhar Syndrome.
