One way, if you have an 870, is to dismantle the gun and clean and debur the inner pieces. Carefully stone the hardened parts where they rub against each other, then clean everything especially well and use (mil-surp) LSA oil to lube the parts. It will work much smoother then. Two-bangs on running “squirrels” were near-instinctual once I did that.
