  1. We're talking about Republicans of TODAY, not 50 years ago. A cursory reading of US history and you'll read about the Southern Realignment from 1956-1984. There's a reason why the former "Solid South" that used to be Democratic is now solidly Republican. You think all the Democrats in the South just moved to the costs or up North or something and a bunch of Republicans moved South? XD
