  1. There are right-wing Christians who sometimes like them because of their hawkish foreign policy views or anti-Muslim outlook. I've seen Evangelicals quote Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins about Islam. As if to say "Look, even these Lefty Atheists agree with me!!!" I think it's because the New Atheists claim to hate all religions but see Fundamentalist Christianity as merely annoying but still Western but see Islam as inherently foreign to Western Civilization and an existential threat. Despite the fact Bissonnette and Dylann Roof are much more common than Omar Mateen and people like Pence are basically President (Trump is just his puppet) while no Islamist holds high office in the US and likely he certainly will.
