  2. Because the US wants Apollo-Era grandeur but is unwilling to spend Apollo-Era $$$$. We want everything cheap now, so President Obama, in his "infinite wisdom" has essentially privatized/outsourced NASA. So now NASA is a mix of hitching rides, bloated pork rockets that will never fly despite all the media billing (SLS), and bleeding edge Silicon Valley-like startup companies (SpaceX, Orbital) with unproven track records.

  3. This just goes to show that just because you change the name of the rocket (from Taurus II to Antares) doesn't make it a different rocket. It still has the same weakspots as the Taurus I. I hate that they changed the rocket name. "Taurus II" sounds cooler and randomly changing the name to the random-ass "Antares" breaks the American rocket family naming scheme.
