  1. ***** - Those are 2 diametrically opposed political ideologies. What the US has is Fascism. I've never seen any form of Socialism where wealthy capitalist magnates/fatcats/moguls control the government and influence public and tax policy to make themselves richer. We're a Coporatist Capitalist system heading towards straight-out Italian-style Fascism.

In fact I've even argued that North Korea is closer to a modern-day absolute monarchy than a "communist state" (which is itself something of an oxymoron). "Socialism is not a bad thing but implying that it is perfect is just plain ignorant." 1) Where did I argue it would be perfect? 2) Social Democracy is just one form of socialism and is one of the most syncretic forms of it.
