France has a multi-party democracy, the US does not. In order for Bernie to win 3rd Party, you'd need to convince 65-75% of Democrats to vote 3rd Party while a candidate with a (D) next to their name is still running and you'd need to get 60% of Independents and 10% of Republicans to vote for that 3rd Party. NOT realistic at this point. No way in hell will more than half of Democrats vote 3rd Party by 2020. Most Democrats aren't as fed up as the "Demexit" crowd. Not to mention a new 3rd Party has no other candidates other than Bernie. No Congressional or Gubernatorial candidates, no state candidates, no state fundraising or voter mobilization apertures, etc. How would Bernie get any legislation done as a 3rd Party President with no Party allies in Congress? If he ran 3rd Party only a few Democrats in Congress would support him as President, the other Democrats could just block his bills out of spite for flipping off the Democratic Party. He'd be in the same position Trump was in with the Obamacare Repeal Bill. Not even getting into the fact if Bernie ran 3rd Party he'd get yet another Media blackout. Only Internet-savvy voters, mostly voters under 35 or 40, would keep up with him.
