He's a foreign policy Neocon, a fan of Charles Murray and "Race Realism", supports torture, supports ethnic profiling of anyone who "looks Muslim", is a hardcore Zionist and a fan of Benjamin Netanyahu and thinks Ben Carson is a better Middle East expert than Noam Chomsky. He's not a Progressive in any meaningful sense. Being center-left on some economic issues doesn't make you a Lefty. Hell, Marine LePen supports some social democrat economic policies. She is certainly not center-left overall. The political compass covers more than just certain economic issues.

  2. Merkel, Trudeau, Turnbull and Macron are true international Centrists, with Merkel and Turnbull being center-right. If you think they're "pretty fucking left-wing" either you know very little about Politics or it shows how far to the Right you yourself are. Bernie Sanders, Jeremy Corbyn, Jean-Lúc Melénchon, Benoît Hamon, Martin Schulz and Niki Ashton are ACTUAL left-wingers. Though center-left. Two of the minor candidates in the French election, Philippe Potou and Nathalie Arthaud, are "pretty fucking left-wing" since they're actual Revolutionary Socialists/Communists.
