@rochepatto1 I agree😊 This data was, imo, targeted to the non-athlete, peri & post-menopausal woman. imo😊 ...not sure why this was perceived differently by some...(one or two)?), as having left out the every-day, non-athletic woman 🤔

@a.higginbottom GREAT answer. And so many missed that here - simply bc she did not emphatically include the long-term menopausal example. Neither did she leave us out! There was a nuance here that many seem to have missed. Your clarifying answer with that podcast link was spot on!

Not sure why/how you've felt 'left-out' of this discussion.... Same data applies to ling-term post-menopausal, as her discussion on peri-menopausal & newly menopausal. Watch her YT interview by Katie Couric - couple years back - and you'll see that the same data ap plies. The only avenue closed to the longer-term post menopausal woman would be the prospect of HRT -(bc if HRT was not begun fairly early-on - the hormone receptors in the body are no longer receptive - the window of time for HRT would be closed). Having said that...the prospect of HRT was left out of this discussion, anyway.

@ked4864 I was not sure why you posted this to me? I clearly do know re differences btw peri, menopause & post. I replied to the OP who said she's post-menopausal by 15 yrs & that she felt left out of the convo. I replied in the context of exercise protocols for each state as being basically the same. (I'm paraphrasing my comment here & I realize I did not make that statement directly, only implied.) To be clear, this is a discussion - mainly re exercise/fitness and not HRT, or treating symptoms of menopause. And so, I was replying in that context. Looks, to me, like you blew right past my meaning in my reply - skipped all nuance - then decided to lecture me on the differences btw peri - menopause - & post menopause. I did mention that post menopause is (generally) too late for HRT- but you apparently missed that as well. There are others here in comments who replied to the OP who felt 'left out' - basically in the same way I did. You appear to be the outlier here who missed the context of this interview (?) OR...you jumped the gun in your eagerness to lecture, and you replied to the wrong person. My advice w/b to be more cognizant next time as to what you are replying about and to whom you are replying to.... Before jumping in feet first with one of your stern (CAPS-filled) lectures😊

@ingridmorgan7893 This DID apply to post-menopausal, as well as the other stages of menopause, imo😊

@audreyboyle52 IMO, this data would ALSO include the post-menopausal woman.

@cj705 ...not really, imo. I think we could ID as being 'athletic', (by being a regular gym-goer), but the connotation of being an 'Athlete' would be vastly different than a gym-goer who exercises regularly... Unless, in the gym we are there training for 'Competition.' (JMO)🙄
