No, it was not. The Arabic world, before Islam was Golden Age, where science, literature, civilization in general were high-standing. Islam destroyed this. Afterwards the Islam claimed all this high-standings to be part of Islam and being created by it. But it´s false. It was actually the Arabic cultures in the Middle East, before the Dark Ages that was so well, and so high standard.
You, my brother, have been told the wrong thing by people who want to promote islam and muslims. But actually, not the muslims, but the general ancient Arabics (Arabs) were the good ones. (I know muslims can be arabic, but i´m making a difference between general arabs-arabics and specific muslims).

The part about the farmers often being called up into military is a bit like not lying, but not tell the full truth or context either. The fact that farmers were being called up is true, but actually this would be only one family member while the rest of the family continue their lives. Also, not every family was approximated. And when it happend, it´s only once in a lifetime. It´s a small percentage. So, how it is being told in the video assumes that farmers in general were the victim of being send to war. And this whole statement also doesn´t point out the fact that most knights/warriors at medieval times (Dark Ages) were actually real warriors, so well-trained, from an early age. Literally they where athletes. Otherwise you can not win a war. Not farmers at all. You had sended average citizens and volunteers included in wars, but only a small percetage. Not only is it unuseful and expensive to include these people, but also it is unnecessarily doing harm to individuals that are useful for ´society´. Maybe the maker of the video is not really into nuance, or only the nuances that fits his agenda.
