  39. I consider myself a progessive/libertarian independent. I have met blacks who choose to be republican because they are socially conservative (pro-life, traditional marriage, etc,) Unfortunately, "tribalism" has poisoned a once balanced and civil discourse within politics and people are turning a blind eye on that which is wrong within the two dominant political parties. Perhaps, they feel that no other party shares their core values or that they will face reprisals for speaking out. Maybe, some are motivated by ambition for personal gain. Nonetheless, not all blacks choose a political party for the same reason.
