The generations before the Baby Boomers were more into the small town style of living but somewhere starting with the boomer generation and younger people now prefer the big city style of living. People are now preferring Houston, Atlanta, Dallas or some areas close to the major cities. Memphis and Jackson are not really major cities.

  2. We truckers see these type of areas across America all the time. Every state in America has towns like this because the generations starting with the baby boomers and younger prefer the city life.

  3. I learned a new word called " mega regions " yesterday and as a ex truck driver I remember areas outside of these mega regions were always more poorer especially small towns that are way off a main interstate. I live in the mega region that extends from Atlanta to Raleigh thank goodness.
