I had a troupe of squirrels that would stop by in the morning for walnut communion. I had to be away for a few days and apparently our house sitter didn't keep up the proper schedule because I came home to potted plant destruction. they're still wild animals, and if frustrated they will act out, just like a Trump Troglodyte.
