  2. After our first trip to the Baltic, we took 10 days in London to decompress. We spent one day just wandering from store to store, Self's, Harrod', Nichols, Liberty, Peter Jones and ended up in Fortnum's for afternoon tea. The October weather couldn't have been more perfect, the throngs of people, the luxury goods. My Kind of Fun.

  4. in our neighborhood, the original houses were designed by Sternberg, very boat like with lots of built-ins and designated spaces in quaint modernist cottages, the rest of the neighborhood is the developer 'borrowing' from other modernist designers, Neutra, Wright, Hegner, Eichler, to finish the project and sell houses. Arapahoe Acres is full of little cute houses, most are less than 2000 sqft unless remodeled.

  5. a nice wander around to see things. Englewood CO isn't as blessed as your local shops, we do have some cute 'town centers' that popped up when the shopping malls got redeveloped into instant 'downtown' areas. Olde Towne LIttleton is a lot like your locals, shops and bakeries and cafes, fun to walk around, when the weather permits.

  9. we did the ToL tour on a sundae morning and then strolled back to Westminster and caught the tube back to our flat in Pimlico. we had a grand time in London, I'd love to go back but trans-Atlantic travel is out of the question, I lack the fortitude to endure a 9 hour screaming baby chorus with solos.   11. The Dixie on Gorodkovaya in St. P is a very small tight space with not near as much as there is in this store, the Dixie there is more like a producti than a regular store like you're wandering around.

  21. meanwhile, back in Denver, the High Street District, Cherry Creek North, has put up ''a million lights'' on the trees in it's sixteen street district, plopped up a ''Holiday Market'' (eye roll), nothing compared to the Lights of London. ! I was there in 2004 at the very beginning of the Christmas Season. Magical. just Magical.

  25. in the US there's a brand of cigarette called ''Pall Mall'' pronounced ''Paul Moll'' different from the ''Pal Mal'' pronunciation. St James/Picc is a funn area, museums, shops, buck pal, the buck pal tat shoppe by the Victoria tube stop. We had a great time in London and love revisiting them with You.   30. IKEA is like Disneyland, it's fun to go every few years or so, but not all the time. IKEA week-nights after 5pm, most people are home, eating, you can have the store practically to yourself, except a few begrudging husbands and shop-a-holics. LOL IKEA in Denver is a dumpster dive at best, messy displays, empty marketplace, not nice.

  34. Shameful. Absolutely Shameful. the ''teas'' I've been to here in Denver. Grossly expensive, horrible offerings for sandwiches, laughable scones and grocery store tea, simply shameful. For what I experienced at F&M and what we get to see with Hannah and her sister, Denver has a lot to learn, 105 is good value, $80 a head here, Shameful. thumbnail scones, no joke. how?? staled bread with old mayonnaise, Costco heat and serve appetizers, seriously, Kroger/asda brand teas, whole portions cut in half and served, it goes on, down , even the local hotel The Brown Palace, serves Twinings English breakfast tea for afternoon tea. Good luck with the NYC tea, at least here at home we can get a proper tea, with proper scones and f&M Royal Blend. sheesh. LOL H H H

I Love London, Too. our little apartment in Pimlico so very nice, local to nice shoppes and restaurants, quick to the tube and Tesco, walking distance to the Tate original museum. London and Helsinki are the only two cities I would return to if they create a new way to travel.planes ain't it.

  36. LOVED Liberty's we brought back yardage goods very MCM patterns we also got Liberty's Chocolate Caviar, mmm that's also the day we had lunch at Peter Jones, really lovely view across the city.   41. aside from the standard khaki navy white pallet, the mauve mint nickel blended in with bubble gum pink looks like something tasty for spring. 1350??!! monthly pension anyone? 1880 to look 'grunge' oooooh kay. uh. next shirt please. Glad to see draw string slacks and 'utility' 'cargo shorts' are on trend, got plenty of them. I"m with you on the muted pallet, tan, green, black, but I do enjoy throwing in some day-glo green or orange or yellow to mix it up. socks and kerchiefs for starters, some shirts, wild bright lime green camo, full spectrum purple from pink orchid all the way to deep aubergine. I've always loved clothes and fashion, most of my work life was dictated by appropriate dress, so when I retired I went back to my shock punk days and started wearing ALL The Colours. Pink included, something I swore I would never do, but la tee da I look good in Pink. Thanks Hannah for all the fun when you take us along !!

  43. that was fun, if you shop around and hit the various Asian grocery stores, Great Wall, H Mart, Pacific Ocean Supermarket, Red Star, etc locally here in Denver you can gather up a wide variety of Kit Kat Flavours. and Yes, a ''Taster'' mindset instead of ''Let's consume every flavour'' would have served in this situation.
